Changes to the intermediate housing applicant priority bandings

The Westminster City Council Supply and Allocations report has now been formally approved and the changes relating to the prioritisation for intermediate housing opportunities have come in to effect. The changes are summarised below:

Forward thinking, affordable housing provider Dolphin Living, part of the Dolphin Square Charitable Foundation, has today launched its new Westminster Home Ownership Accelerator (WHOA) programme in partnership with Westminster City Council.
Eligibility changes – household income threshold increases
1st April 2016
As of 1st April 2016, the household income threshold has now increased to £90,000 for applicants looking to buy or rent any intermediate housing across London.
Please note that this maximum household income applies to properties of any bedroom size.

Government launch Help to Buy ISAs

The beginning of December saw the launch of the Government’s new Help to Buy ISA scheme. The Help to Buy ISAs are highly recommended by financial experts for first time buyer’s saving for a mortgage deposit. If you are saving to buy your first home, then the Help to Buy ISA can boost your savings by 25%. For every £200 you save, you will receive a Government bonus of £50. The maximum bonus you can receive is £3,000.
